Buying plants from Bide-a-Wee Nursery

You can purchase plants for your own garden direct from Bide-A-Wee Cottage nursery. Choose from a wide range of over 500 high quality perennials, grasses, rushes, sedges, ferns and shrubs, all grown at
Bide-A-Wee Cottage Gardens.
There's always something special, unusual or different to find in the nursery.

We propagate most of the plants ourselves, thereby avoiding the air miles and excessive plastic used with imported plants. We don't use pesticide or chemicals either ( we do keep honey bees after all ).
.
Often a Marsh Orchid will pop up in one of our plants for sale (we don't have the heart to pull them out), so an extra little freebie. In fact some people buy the plant just for the orchid.

We use our own homemade compost mixed with peat free compost and have supplied plants to the Gertrude Jekyll garden on Lindisfarne, Belsay Hall and Howick Hall to name a few.

There's always something unusual to find in the nursery..

One of our many visiting friends.

We're a member of the British Pteridological Society and they hold a special place at Bide-A-Wee.
As well as having numerous cultivars throughout the garden, will also sell ferns such as Dryopteris, Athyrium, Polystichiums, Osmuda and Dicksonia.
